Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp reportedly agreed to join Red Bull in a meeting two years ago.

It was announced on Wednesday that Klopp. Will take up the role of Red Bull’s “global head of football” from January 1. The role will

give Klopp oversight of all of Keri Red Bull’s international networks, including RB Leipzig, Salzburg and New York Red Bulls. The

former Reds boss will advise the club on coaching, playing philosophy, developing and recruiting new players and coaching talent.

was reported to have met with Red Bull co-founder Dietrich Mateschitz in Salzburg. Who died the following month at the age of 78.

The report states: The Austrian billionaire has successfully persuaded to take over as Red Bull’s global head of football. Stating that an agreement had been reached for him to take on the role in early 2025.

Klopp officially announced he would be stepping down as Liverpool manager in January, 15 months after the forward agreed a deal with the energy drink giant.

Red Bull’s motorsport advisor Helmut Marko add that the deal had been agreed for some time.

“It’s incredible that a deal of this magnitude could have been kept secret for so long,” he told TZ.

“This would not have been possible in Formula One.”
